Discover Ipswich’s Rich History with ‘Picturing Your Past’

Join us at the Ipswich Children’s Library, Springfield Central Library, Redbank Plains Library, and Rosewood Library as we showcase the fascinating history of Ipswich! Our exciting program, Picturing Your Past, will transport children to the vibrant mid-century period (1945-1965) in Ipswich’s history.

Each installation is accompanied by hands-on activities and authentic artefacts that encourage children to uncover the fascinating elements of Ipswich’s past and explore differences and similarities in recreational pastimes, family traditions and schooling.

Children can immerse themselves in the captivating installations which aim to bring the past to life and encourage them to explore the wonders of history and the importance of preserving the stories that shape our community.
