Virtual School Holiday Programs: June – July 2020

Welcome to the Ipswich Libraries Holiday Program.
While our face-to-face school holiday programs are on hold we are offering virtual holiday programming via our website and social media channels.

Virtual Minecraft

Minecraft is back! Choose your world: Survival or Creative and let the adventure begin! While we are not offering Minecraft in the library, we have created our own secure online world so you can play from home. 

Virtual Minecraft

Team up with others to build a survival camp and defeat the elder dragon, or work as an individual in creative to build your dream home.

To participate, you first need to:

  • own a copy of Minecraft Java Edition: minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-edition and have it installed on your computer
  • have internet access
  • know how to play Minecraft
  • join the Ipswich Libraries Minecraft Server (details will be forwarded to everyone who registers for this event)

LEGO Dream Holiday Builds

Unleash your inner creativity and use your own LEGO (and other household items) to create a representation of your dream holiday experience.

Story Bookalikes Family Challenge

Work together as a family to recreate the front cover from your favourite children’s story book using items from around your home.

Drawing Dinosaurs with Tony Flowers

Join illustrator Tony Flowers for a creative online workshop via Zoom to learn how you can improve your drawing skills while discovering all the fun of drawing dinosaurs with flair.

Minecraft Pixel Art

Minecraft is back! While we are not offering Minecraft in the library, we have created our own secure online world so you can play from home. In this event your challenge is to create or re-create a Book Character or Cover.

Register for as many sessions as you like these holidays (Wednesdays or Fridays) to continue your book build.

To participate, you first need to:

Test your powers of observation as we magically jump to a variety of locations via Google Earth. Guess the exact location and remember key details in each street view to earn additional points for your team.
