Ipswich Libraries

Congratulations to the winners of the 2013 Viva Cribb Bursary.

Rev. Trevor Foote & Bremer Forum

The Viva Cribb Bursary assists ‘Local Historians’ by providing funding for the cost of documenting, recording or publishing a significant aspect of the local history of Ipswich. This year the bursary is shared between two applicants who will each record a piece of Ipswich History.

Rev. Trevor Foote is working on a book with the proposed title: The History of Arthur Foote Joinery Ltd., Ipswich, Queensland’. Arthur Foote’s Joinery Works played an important part in the construction industry of Ipswich’s early years through to 1970.

Bremer Forum will publish a series of DVDs with the proposed title: ’Talking about Ipswich’. In 2010 Bremer Forum filmed 150 presentations by the community recalling aspects of Ipswich’s history for the 150 years’ celebrations.

We look forward to these valued publications being added to the Viva Cribb Local History Resource Room.
