To enjoy the thousands of awesome Kanopy films on offer you just have to sign up for an account.

You can sign up for your account here 

After signing up, you’ll be prompted to “add your library card”. Simply use your Ipswich Libraries username or the number on the back of your library card and you’re go to go!

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll only ever be prompted for your Kanopy login when you are using new devices.

Each month, you will receive 20 tickets to play videos. Your tickets reset on the first day of the month and any unused tickets will not roll over to the next month. As you browse for titles, you’ll see the number of tickets required to watch each title and how long you have to watch it.

Story Box Library features Australian children’s books read by Australian voices, presented in high definition streaming videos you can watch on your PC, Mac, tablet or Smartphone.

Blinkist

Short on time to catch up on the books everyone is talking about?  Blinkist offers summaries of bestselling non-fiction books and podcasts to read or listen to in just 15 minutes.

Before using Blinkist for the first time, please follow the instructions as provided in the More Info link to ensure free access to Blinkist Premium.

To access Blinkist, you first need to create an account using your library card and library account PIN via the Blinkist Sign Up Page.

After entering your Ipswich Libraries library card details, you will need to click “Activate Premium Subscription” then enter your email and create a password.

Please note that the first time sign up link provided cannot be used to login after an account is created. The Access Blinkist Website link should be followed instead or the installation links for your device.

Once you’ve set up Blinkist for the first time, you should not have pay to access the Blinkist website or app once the Premium Subscription has been activated.

Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform for public libraries and educational institutions that offers viewers a large collection of award-winning films and documentaries. BusyCode

BusyCode is a fun, engaging and exciting introduction to coding for kids aged 6-13 years. Kids can access creative coding challenges, coding tutorials and coding projects through two components: Code Disco and Beard Man’s Adventures.  It’s a great lead into Scratch which is used in schools to learn coding and complete coding projects.

BusyCode

Code Disco offers basic coding training through repeat loops, conditionals, events and variables. Children can build programs by linking simple blocks together using a drag and drop feature.

Beard Man’s Adventures allows children to explore adventures with over 45 levels.  Children must write code to direct Beard Man through a series of chambers avoiding a series of hazards.  To finish a level, children must help Beard Man solve a puzzle to open a treasure chest, and then escape from a final chamber before the gate closes!
