Ipswich Heritage Day at the Cooneana Heritage Centre

Do you have photos or memorabilia of early Ipswich? Can you tell the stories behind your items? Your photos could help recreate the story of Ipswich from early settlers to the present day. History is being made every day and your private collection may hold a missing clue to how our great city developed.

So, if your unsure of the historical value of your photos, bring a couple of examples along to the Cooneana Heritage Centre’s Ipswich Heritage Day on Sunday the 7th of August from 10.00am – 2.00pm. Have your special memorabilia seen by Sally Hetherington of Picture Ipswich, Greg Lyons of Lost Ipswich and Ken Sbeghen of the Ipswich Historical Society. If you are simply interested in learning more about the history of Ipswich then why not join other residents on the day for a tour of the Historical Centre for a $2.00 donation and enjoy original and historical displays from a by-gone era. Mayor Pisasale will open the Ipswich Heritage Day at 12.00pm on the day and Swiched On Ipswich and the Ipswich Genealogical Society will also be there, as will members of the Ipswich Hospital Museum and the Rosewood Scrub Historical Society, which means lots of expertise to help with your questions regarding the history of our local area. We hope to see you on the day at the Cooneana Heritage Centre from 10am to 2pm on Sunday 7 August.
