Picture Ipswich & More … Family History

The Marsh Family – Image courtesy of Picture Ipswich

It’s the 150th anniversary of Ipswich being proclaimed a municipality. To help celebrate this milestone, a free information session “Family History” will be held at the Barry Jones Auditorium, Ipswich Library on Tuesday 16 November from 10:00am to 11:30am. Do you have an ancestor who was a convict?   Find out how to search for convict ancestors using online resources, with help from guest speaker, Myles Sinnamon, from the State Library of Queensland. Or find out about some common pitfalls that you are likely to encounter when researching your family history from Catriona Robinson of Ipswich Genealogical Society.

Sessions are free, but advance booking is required as spaces are strictly limited.

To book your place, phone the library on 3810 6815.  For more information visit the library website at http://library.ipswich.qld.gov.au/training/pictureips.htm
