Terms and Conditions of Membership

  • To borrow items you will need your library membership number and/or password..
  • Standard loan period is four weeks, some items and collections may vary from this.
  • You may borrow up to 20 items on your card.
  • Items may be borrowed from and returned to any branch of Ipswich Libraries. After hours chutes are available at all branches. 
  • Membership may be suspended if you have outstanding charges.
  • Overdue notices are a courtesy reminder for your convenience.
  • A reservation and/or inter-library loan service is available. You can place your own reservations for most items in branch or online.
  • Library items that you have borrowed that become lost or damaged will incur a fee. 
  • All charges are non-refundable.
  • If you change your contact details please update your account online or contact Ipswich Libraries as soon as possible.
  • Please report lost cards to the library immediately. You will be held responsible for any items borrowed before the loss is reported.
  • Full library membership requires verification of your identity, for example, driver’s license, rates notice, utilities bill, etc. 

Privacy Statement

Ipswich City Council is collecting your personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) so that we can process your membership application, perform our other responsibilities under the Act and provide other library services. We will not disclose your personal information outside of Council unless we are required by law or you have given your consent. By completing and signing this form and returning it to Council, we will consider that you have given us your consent to manage your personal information in this collection notice.
