The Future of Work

What will your future career look like? Explore exciting future workforce opportunities with these webinars for high school students, led by BOP Industries.

The Future of Work

The world of work is constantly evolving and you’re limited only by your imagination.  Over 4 weeks, we will explore thought-provoking topics within interactive Zoom workshops. By working together to think bigger, Generation Z participants will be inspired by these creative 21st century concepts and job prospects.

  • Topic 1: The 100 Jobs of the Future  (Week 1: 19 August 2020)

With machines and big data changing the way we work and interact with each other, the jobs on the market today and the skills required for them are changing at an increasing rate. By analysing the 3 forces shaping the future of work; automation, globalisation and collaboration, we will be reflecting on personal preferences to determine which jobs of the future might be good options for us.

  • Topic 2: Entrepreneurship  (Week 2: 26 August 2020)

How do you turn a business idea into reality? This week we will create our own small business with help from BOP Industries’ team of engineers and entrepreneurs. We will cover everything from branding and marketing to product design, business models and more. This workshop is perfect for young people with an interest in entrepreneurship, design or business.

  • Topic 3: Sustainable Futures  (Week 3: 2 September 2020)

In this week’s collaborative workshop we will consider modern technology and the sustainable practices increasingly being included in all aspects of our life. We will begin asking questions about how these innovative changes are shaping the cities of tomorrow and if/how these new practices will support jobs of the future.

  • Topic 4: Community Leadership  (Week 4: 9 September 2020)

The fall out and repercussion of 2020 continues to be felt by all. Despite immense hardship, we are seeing communities from around the world band together to solve challenges facing them. Using these creative solutions as inspiration, in this week’s workshop we will brainstorm products and services to make a difference and support people in our own local community.
